Black Magic Removal Gone Wrong: A Dhaka Family’s Story

October 19, 2026 Rasel

The story I am sharing today, bhaiya, happened in the family of Naima apu in Dhaka. I have heard much of it and have met and talked with her. It is a very painful story. A healthy, well family went for some treatment, and in trying to fix something, they made things very wrong. Now their condition is bad. This is a story of black magic removal gone wrong.

Two Mischievous Children

Naima apu has a daughter in class eight, a son in class five, and a baby boy of one year four months. Her eldest, the daughter, is very naughty, and the middle son’s behaviour and way of talking made people feel he might have some mental problem, or be possessed by some evil jinn. They looked like patients, the way they behaved. Every time a neighbour or guest came, everyone gave them the same advice: do take some good treatment, whether a doctor or a kabiraj, because the girl’s behaviour and the boy’s behaviour do not seem right.

Naima apu said they used to be extremely naughty. They were so naughty that everyone assumed a jinn had taken hold of them.

Cure After Cure

Since many people were advising this, Naima apu consulted her husband, and they took treatment from a tantrik kabiraj in a village in Narayanganj. The kabiraj said that five jinn were with the daughter and two jinn with the son. They were astonished. So many jinn on my children, which is why they are so naughty! Then they carried out many kinds of remedies for many days. After all those days of remedies, it turned out that the children were exactly as they had been, doing the same mischief. Then they asked around and went to another place. There they were told something different: “You have a family enemy. You have enemies here. Black magic has been done on you, and because of this black magic your children are like this.” They became even more confused, and did not understand any of it. From that place too they were given treatments and remedies. They were told to burn incense, and to burn a wick in mustard oil, hold it near the child’s nose, and bathe the child. They filled the house all around with amulets and more amulets. By going to many different places, their position grew desperate, as they did not know what to do. On the windows, doors, in the room, the fans, on everyone’s own body, everything was full of amulets and charms. Someone also told them that these seven taweez must be burned in the morning, and the same thing again in the evening. They kept bringing these things and doing them.

Then suddenly this became a habit for them, like worship. Their prayers, namaz and Quran had stopped. They did not even find time to read them. The tasks that the kabirajes gave them had become their worship. That was their prayer. They went on doing them regularly.

The Thorn Branch and the Clay Pot

Finally, when they went to fetch one more remedy, the healer gave them a branch full of thorns and said something to read over it. He told them that the girl had to be beaten with this thorny branch, twenty-one times each morning. Such strange treatments, and such an odd first meeting with that kabiraj. He himself struck the girl, and then showed me her hands. Her hands were pricked and covered in blisters. Then she had a fever, and her condition was bad. Even so, they kept saying, “See, your daughter is better now, she has gone so calm.”

Someone says it is black magic, someone says a jinn has taken them. But in truth, by doing these things, Naima apu said, there had been no such trouble before, and now it had entered their home. What kind of thing was it?

One day, after beating her this way, the girl cried hard. They phoned the kabiraj. “My daughter is crying in a strange, groaning way.” The kabiraj said, “All right, send your husband to us and we will give a remedy.” Then a pot was given, with soil inside it. When they brought it back, they were told it had to be set on fire. They were to put fire to it, and then whatever possessed the girl in the house would go away. When the soil in the pot was set alight, they said a huge ball of fire shot up and the clay pot began to spin. Then they saw a black shadow come out of the room. It appeared on the wall. They called the kabiraj, and the kabiraj said, “Right now you need two goats at once, and you must do such-and-such treatment for yourselves, or a big danger will come to you.” Now they were stunned, wondering what to do. Naima apu was very worried and under great tension.

What Came Into the House

Naima apu said that at night, when she goes to sleep, there are two rooms. She and her husband sleep in the big room. In the other room are the daughter and son, and the baby. She says that after this remedy came, every night something tries hard to get in through their door. It tries so hard, as if it will break the door down. It knocks many times and tries to open the door. When she opens the door, nobody is there.

Then suddenly, when she went to make food for the baby, the baby screamed. She came to look, and saw an old woman sitting on her sofa with the baby in her lap. She was astonished, and she screamed too. Then there is her class-eight daughter. She was never like this before. Her face is withering. She has stopped eating. She weeps very quietly. Now she has trouble breathing, because so many amulet wicks were burned near her nose. The girl also says that when she sleeps, someone seems to push her out of bed onto the floor. When she cries out, she sees a huge shadow shape on the wall.

After they brought these remedies, hung the charms and amulets on the windows, doors, fans and everywhere, burned the wicks and amulets, and kept amulets on their own bodies, they began to see a dark presence in their home, shadow forms and many other things they had not seen before. They also told us many other things. Suddenly, for example, they would bring fish and cook it and be about to eat, but there would be no fish left in the pot. All the cooked food was gone, and none of them could say who had eaten it. After countless incidents like these, they finally stopped. They would go to no tantrik, no ojha, no kabiraj. At last they prayed to Allah, and wept a great deal. They also stopped beating the girl with the thorny branch. One reason was that the girl fell so ill that they took her to hospital.

What the Doctors Said

The doctors said her lungs and brain, several parts of her body, had been damaged and had become harmful to her. She had been hit very hard on the head, and a great pressure had been put on her. They said that if she had not been treated, she would have had a brain stroke. She had been put under terrible fear and pressure. The doctors said she was very frightened inside. Treatment is going on now with the doctors. When they came to us and shared these incidents, we asked how they could get safety or shelter. We told them one thing: why did you listen to those people? Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, has made one person calm and another perhaps lively or naughty. Allah made them that way. Some are very simple, some are clever and cunning, some are naughty. So give your children a little time. Talk with your children a little. Eat with them, spend time with them. Share some joy with them. Take a trip. Stand by them. By listening to wrong treatment and the advice and nonsense of people, a family is today heading toward ruin.

Yes, bhaiya, that was the story. Even now, in Naima apu’s home, there are some unseen sounds. And the little baby boy, who is one year four months, sixteen months old, Naima apu often says, when she is making milk or some food for her baby, an old woman with long hair holds him on the sofa or on the bed. One day she said the baby was lying down, and that old woman had put her foot on his stomach. She said it looked as if she would press down and kill the baby, and Naima apu screamed and gathered everyone. That was my story, bhaiya.
