Black Magic Testimonies by Victims and Real Life Stories by Paranormal Investigators: Part 1

October 30, 2026 Rasel

This is Part 1 of a long conversation with Al-Amin, a raqi, a man who treats people with ruqyah, recitation from the Quran. It sits among the black magic testimonies by victims and real life stories by paranormal investigators that we collect. He speaks about what he has seen in his own treatment room, and what he says about how black magic works. These are his views and experiences, and I have kept them as he gave them.

Why He Became a Raqi

Host: Why did you come to ruqyah, and why did you become a raqi?

Al-Amin: I have always liked seeing and practising unusual, powerful things. Ruqyah is a powerful spiritual subject, and not everyone can do it just because they want to. When I saw there was a lot of room for service in this field, I came into it. My aim is to protect people from shirk. It is much harder to invite a healthy person and turn him into someone who prays, than to turn a patient into one. If you tell a patient, he agrees: you must pray five times a day, keep pardah, not listen to music. Because he wants to get well. Another reason is that in this field a lot of taweez, jinn worship and all sorts of tadbir go on. Many people give taweez dressed as a hujur. My patients come and tell me that a hujur told them to slaughter an animal, to bathe in a certain way. When a Muslim does such shirk, his faith goes. Working in this place, I can put faith inside people.

Raqi, Kabiraj and Money

Host: How do I tell who is a raqi and who is a kabiraj?

Al-Amin: It is simple. A raqi will not ask for your name and address, and he cannot tell you what your problem is from the unseen. A raqi will do ruqyah on you directly. He will not give you a taweez, and he will not tell you to go to a three-way crossroads or a graveyard. He will recite duas from the Quran and the hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him). There will be pardah in it, and the rules of the shariah. When a female patient comes, you will see whether pardah is kept. If someone makes a video and says a woman is sitting with me unveiled, and he touches her, none of that is part of ruqyah. A raqi will not do anything outside the shariah.

Host: Now raqi has become a business. There is a tendency to charge big money in the name of ruqyah.

Al-Amin: It is a hard question. I may be bullied in the community, but I am not afraid to tell the truth. I have seen one session charged at ten thousand taka. I have seen patients kept hanging. During ruqyah I can tell if someone has magic in the stomach. Then I make him vomit and no further session is needed. Many people keep a patient hanging for three or four sessions, saying they will make him vomit in the next one. I do not take this as a business. Allah has given me other halal sustenance. I am not talking about others, I am talking about myself. At my centre ruqyah costs the least. I have no big setup, no manager, I do not run ads. I am a one-man army. I do ruqyah in the same office where I record videos, so there is no extra cost.

Training, Faith and Summoning Jinn

Host: Do you have to take training to become a raqi? Did you?

Al-Amin: Training may be needed, but I did not take any. What I have seen is all very professional. I never wanted to be a professional raqi. To become a raqi, first of all you must be “mutmainna”, meaning your heart must be at peace. If you can do that, you can become a raqi. You must know how to recite the Quran correctly, and knowing the meaning of the verses makes it more effective. But more important than that is tawhid and aqidah. If your heart follows Allah’s word, whatever you say will be ruqyah. A raqi has no power of his own, everything is by Allah’s help. The other day a patient’s jinn had not gone even after two hours of effort. Then I came into the office. Someone else was doing the ruqyah. I said, “What is it?” The jinn said, “Why am I not going?” and it left. By which verse or hadith will you explain this? It means iman. If the heart is such that it serves Allah, what thousands of hours of training cannot do, happens.

Host: I hear about summoning jinn. Can a jinn actually be summoned?

Al-Amin: No, a jinn cannot be summoned. If anyone thinks “I will summon a jinn”, that is wrong. We always tell the patient, your recovery does not lie in whether the jinn is made to appear or not. What you need is to get well. If someone has a jinn in his body, the Quran pulls it out. No raqi can bring a jinn forward, a raqi has not a hair’s width of power. Only a servant of Allah whom Allah empowers can do it.

Host: Any funny incident during ruqyah?

Al-Amin: Just yesterday. Two elderly aunties came, two sisters. One of them had been separated from her husband for seven or eight years, with no contact with her children either. Within a minute or two of starting ruqyah the jinn came. It started cursing me, in very bad language, “I will eat you, you are in trouble.” Her sister could not understand at all. She said to her sister, “Why are you scolding hujur?” I said, “Aunty, please wait a moment.” Later I said, “Aunty, there is a jinn in your sister.” She said, “I did not understand, I have never seen a jinn patient in my life.” Her reaction was a lot of fun to see. After five or seven minutes the jinn began to beg forgiveness, “Hujur, I made a mistake, please forgive me.”

Host: When a jinn appears, do you question it?

Al-Amin: We mostly do not talk to the jinn. At least I do not like to talk much. Because I am more valuable than it. It did not come on its own, I brought it. It is a criminal, so why would I talk to a criminal? If I bow down to it, it will make a friend of me and will not obey me. You have to keep a little fear in it. In a magic case I try to get two or three pieces of information: where the magic is, who did it. I do not talk more than that. I keep it afraid: “You are in trouble. I have no power, I run on Allah’s power.”

How Black Magic Works and How Jinn Are Bound

Host: How does magic actually work?

Al-Amin: In verse 102 of Surah Baqarah, Allah has said how magic came to the earth, who learned it, why Allah sent it, how it works. Allah sent two angels named Harut and Marut. The devils learned magic from them. The angels said, “This is a fitnah for you, do not learn it.” It was a test. Those who failed learned it, and caused separation between husbands and wives among people. The verse also says that magic does not work without Allah’s permission. If you do magic on me, it will work if Allah wills, and if not, it will not. Those who learn magic or have it done, according to this view, are kafir, they do not remain Muslim.

Host: How does a magician bring a jinn under control?

Al-Amin: Let me give an example. There are many kinds of binding. A jinn may say, “Pray while in a state of major impurity.” There are certain acts of kufr: insulting the Quran, keeping it in impure places, standing on the Quran, slaughtering an animal in the name of a jinn. If someone does these, a big jinn is pleased and becomes obedient. Then a smaller jinn under it is given to the kabiraj. The kabiraj takes information from that jinn. A jinn can tell you the past, your name, your father’s name, whom you loved. But it cannot tell you the future. You can check and match it. Then you think, this kabiraj knows everything, he is very powerful. This is how you fall into deception and do whatever the kabiraj says. In magic, a jinn is sent after the name, address and father’s name and put inside the person. One more thing: if there is a small jinn in your body and a bigger jinn is put in, the small one goes or comes out. Then you stay well for a few days and the problem comes back. Without ruqyah, that is Quranic treatment, you cannot be saved from the hand of the jinn.

Signs a Person May Be Targeted

Host: How do I know whether a patient is affected by magic?

Al-Amin: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was affected by magic and did not realise it for two or three months. Slowly you have to understand that something is wrong inside you. You will move away from normal life. In whatever area the magic was done, you will have trouble in that area:

  • If livelihood is blocked, your business will not run, and you will not find the reason.
  • If studies are blocked, you get a headache when you sit down to study, and a fever when you go to school.
  • If magic is done to cause a problem between husband and wife, you will have trouble in your marital life at certain times and be fine at others.
  • If magic is done to make you mad, you will slowly begin to forget things, without reason. If you do not get treatment, in time you may truly go mad.
  • If there is magic in the stomach, your stomach will always feel full, you will not want to eat, you will eat in dreams, you will have bloating, gas and stomach pain without cause, but checkups will find nothing.
  • Your money accounts will not add up, and there will be no blessing in it.
  • There will be quarrels between husband and wife without reason, so that a little too much salt in the rice escalates to “I will divorce you”.
  • You rise from one illness and fall into another. Recover from a bike accident and then collide with a rickshaw.
  • A child becomes unnaturally hyper.
These are not normal. You will realise yourself that it is paranormal.
